I am a wanna be author, who is always looking for interesting Keys. This is the first one I have seen carved from wood. It must have taken awhile to get all the detail just right. That is what I love about hand made projects. =^.^=
I took a look and for one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry.... the price is a bargain. I think there is just SO MUCH on Etsy, it is hard to get noticed. That is why a lot of people 'favorite' EVERYTHING they come across because it gives them exposure to a lot more potential buyers. I haven't tried it yet.... but there is another wood carver on Etsy that swears by it.... and he has over 1200 sales. Your work is really very good.... and unique, too.
Thanks Sp00n I think that on Etsy there is few people that make items really handmade I think that they only assemble them, but Etsy has not the interest to ban them because if Etsy do that It loses much money About the woodcarver that has over 1200 sales... I don't know I think I can make 60-70 items per year Can you send me the link of this woodcarver?
Yes... it is true that more and more Etsy is becoming a 'buy it now' ebay type store... but there are still many shoppers that go onto the site for the very kind of things you and I make. The shop I was referring to is The Tree Wizard. Gary does beautiful work and a whole lot of it. He is also very active in the Etsy woodcarving 'teams'.... which give a lot of advice and support for woodcarvers. I think the two teams are called... 'Etsy Woodcarvers' and 'The Woodcarvers of Etsy'. Worth checking out.
wow he makes very good things! His shop is opened since 2009, now I understand the 1200 sales Also I subscribed to a couple of woodcarver teams, but they are almost dead... and the other are called "american woodcarvers" and so on...so I can't subscribe I also think that the main purchases are done in the USA, so for me it's a little more difficult to sell, because of the high shipping costs...last month I have shipped a 350 euros box in California with 35 euros shipping costs...without tracking number!
My shop has been open almost as long.... and I have barely over 100 sales. But look at his 'Items I Love' and you will see he has a LOT !! So... I think that system of favorite-ing every thing in site works. Here is a link for a link for a shop in Bulgaria. Over 450 sales.... but look at their 'Items I love' (favorites). Over 20,000 !! So the trick seems to work. <grin>
So I also must try it!! Usually I don't favorite many items, because I'm a seller and not a buyer... I have subscribed now to the 2 groups...I hope they will accept me! Thanks again for the suggestions!
